Frequently asked questions

Answers about supported TVs, privacy, file handling and what to do when the TV does not accept the list.

Is my channel list uploaded to a server?

No. The file is opened and edited inside your browser. It is not sent anywhere, and the site has no server that could receive it.

Which TVs are supported?

Samsung TVs that can export the channel list to USB: Tizen models from 2015 on, which export a zip named Channel_list_ followed by a model code, and 2010 to 2015 models, which export an .scm file. Digital satellite, cable and antenna lists are supported.

Can I open the .scm file from my older TV?

Yes. The .scm files of the C, D, E, F and H series from 2010 to 2015 and of J models without Tizen open. Files from the 2009 B series, analogue channel lists and the HD+ operator list are not supported.

Can I use a list from another TV?

No. A list only loads on the same model with the same country setting, and it only makes sense for the same dish or cable connection. Always start from the export of your own TV.

The TV does not find the file. What is wrong?

The zip must be at the top level of the USB stick, still zipped and with its original name. Check that the browser did not add something like (1) to the name.

Can I undo my changes?

Inside the editor you can undo every step and restore deleted channels until you download. After importing, you can go back by importing your backup of the original file.

Why are there fewer channels in the editor than on the TV counter?

The TV stores a few hidden data services alongside the channels. The editor does not show them and leaves them in place.

Can I do this on a phone?

Yes. Connect the USB stick with an adapter, open the file in the editor and save the download back to the stick. Dragging works by touch.

Does it cost anything?

No. The editor is free to use.
